We'll post our newsletters here so you can reference them on the go, or just in case one gets lost in a bottomless backpack.
We have a lot to talk about, so be sure to check our News page often. Here we will share details about upcoming events, provide important reminders, and tell you all about the things and people that make us great.
St. James School begins the Iowa Assessments on Monday, April 23. The Iowa Assessments assess student achievement in vocabulary, word analysis, reading, listening, language (spelling, capitalization, punctuation, and written expression), mathematics, computation, social studies, and science. The Iowa Assessments core includes all tests except social studies and science. Questions are read aloud with the exception of the vocabulary and reading tests and portions of the computation, social studies, and science tests. All questions are in multiple-choice format. The principal will receive the results by the end of June.

The middle school dance is on Friday, April 27 at 6:00 p.m. in the school cafeteria. We are looking forward to an enjoyable evening!
Parent Satisfaction Surveys
Please complete the parent satisfaction surveys. The primary goal of the parent surveys is to collect and understand parent opinions, perspectives, attitudes, and perceptions toward the school, students, and education in order to improve the learning environment in general or specific ways. This is an important step because, as many studies have proven, parent involvement in schools has a significant impact on student performance. Thank you!
We are participating in the Killingly Festival on Saturday, May 19. We are looking for a tent and a table in order to have a booth in Davis Park. If you can help, please contact the main office. We are also looking for a flatbed truck so we can decorate. We have a school banner. We would like to get a representation of students, parents, faculty, and staff to parade down Main Street including athletes, student council, National Honor Society, and class officers.
